The NCEC-US Army Bowl Showcase is in the books, and some of the top young talent in the country was on display. The event took place on February 5th at Parkview High School in Lilburn, GA. Coach Gary Downs, Deuce Recruiting’s National Recruiting Director was on the scene, identifying the best of the best.
The high school defensive back group was referred to as the “deepest and most talented group at the camp.” Khylen Harris-Norman (@KhylenNorman) was named camp MVP for his efforts. The class of 2025 DB attends the B.E.S.T. Academy in Atlanta and made second team all region as a sophomore this season. Anquon Fegans (@FegansAnquon), the number 1 safety in the class of 2025, received an invite to play in the US Army Bowl during camp. Fegans attends Thompson High School in Alabaster, AL and has 26 Division I offers. As a group, the defensive backs really stood out in 1v1 drills.
Harris-Norman was not the only defender from B.E.S.T. Academy to win honors at camp, as his teammate De’Zavion Holman was named MVP of the defensive line. The junior lineman was an all-state honorable mention and tallied 10 sacks, 16 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles and a blocked punt for the Eagles. Holman was praised for having an excellent motor throughout camp.
The offensive side of the ball came to play too. Out of all the pass catcher, Christopher Holland (@CHolland_88) made the biggest splash in camp. The WR/TE flashed agility, a sudden first step and great separation on his routes. Those tools, paired with his 6’3 size made for a tough cover, as he routinely made tough catches in tight coverage. The Roswell, GA junior was named wide receiver MVP.
